2022-2023 Immersion Days

Deepen their Learning with an Immersion Day!

Enrich your trip with one or more of these experiences added to the show:

  • Small Group Workshops: Stage Combat, Improv, Acting and more.
  • Build a Moment: Get backstage perspectives from the actors and designers.
  • Post-show Discussion: Talk with the actors to continue the learning.

Who are Immersion Days for?

Immersion Days are designed to serve 20–150 students in grades 7–12. We welcome both experienced theatre students and literature students with little or no theatre experience.

What happens on an Immersion Day?

Students participate in small group workshops with local teaching artists. Students can then gain a unique backstage perspective through experiencing a Build A Moment, a large group demonstration wherein actors and designers from the production perform short sections of the play. The day is then concluded by attending a post-show discussion where students gain unique access to the actors and technicians involved in the production. Immersion days include 1 hr workshops plus the addition of a Build A Moment or a Post-Show Discussion.

Why add an Immersion Day to our experience?

Students who participate in an Immersion Day engage with the performance in a deeper and more meaningful way. Immersion Day teaching artists enrich each student’s experience by sharing their passion for theatre, illustrating theatre as a collaborative art, and highlighting the importance of preparation and interpretive choices.
