Student Matinees

For decades, Park Square Theatre has welcomed thousands of students into our spaces for transformative matinee performances.

Many community members and alumni share that their first, most vivid memories of theatre began here, sitting in our seats as young learners. These experiences often spark a lifelong appreciation for the arts and leave lasting impressions well beyond the classroom.

Together, we can create an unforgettable theatre experience for your students.

About Our Student Matinees

We proudly partner with elementary, middle, and high schools; colleges and universities; homeschool groups; and individual students who wish to experience live theatre. Our goal is to ensure that every student, regardless of background or circumstance, has access to the wonder and impact of live performance.

Cost should never be a barrier. Ticket prices vary, with opportunities to work within a wide range of budgets and abilities. Park Square also maintains limited funding and subsidy programs to help schools and groups offset costs - please ask us about available support when booking.

Teachers consistently tell us that live theatre transforms the way their students read, think, and connect with literature, history, and the world around them. These performances ignite curiosity, deepen understanding, and spark conversations that continue long after the final curtain.

TALK BACK SESSIONS

Every student matinee includes the option to add a post-show talk-back with members of the cast and creative team. These conversations give students the chance to ask questions, reflect on themes, and connect their learning to the world around them.

EASY PLANNING

We make the logistics simple: bus parking, greeters to welcome your group, and guaranteed performance lengths to keep your day on schedule.
